And diverse image processing functions are available to optimize the readability of difficult-to-scan documents, such as those with light colored text or patterned backgrounds (Advanced Text Enhancement II).

The scanner is equipped with Automatic Color Detection for easy scanning of mixed batches. This mode eliminates the need to separate black-and-white and color documents prior to scanning and helps keep image file sizes to a minimum by saving images in the appropriate format.

Scan unsorted batches with ease using efficiency-boosting image processing functions such as Automatic Page Size Detection, Skip Blank Page, Deskew, Text Orientation Recognition, and more.

Assign routine scan tasks to three customizable job buttons with CaptureOnTouch for quick and easy scanning. Job buttons offer one-touch access to functions such as Scan to E-mail, Scan to Folder, and Scan to Application, such as iPhoto, -plus all relevant scan settings.

The new auto power feature contributes to energy efficiency and prevents the scanner from being accidentally left on. When power is switched to AUTO, the scanner turns on/off automatically, depending on the status of the connected PC. Manual ON/OFF, of course, is available.
